Capítulo 15


Tony drove with me to the hospital. ‘Shall I call Eva?’ he asked me when they helped me out of it. ‘No.. I just wanna sleep now.. Tell her about it and say that she can come visit me, together with Sam.. I feel like I can sleep for an eternity..’ I sighed. Tony helped me into the hospital. A doctor and nurse were waiting for me. Of course I had to have a medical exam first. I had only wounds around my wrists from the rob, my lip was swollen and blue and some scratches from the fight. Soon they brought me to a room where I could sleep. I didn’t even tried to take my clothes off. ‘I wanna sleep.. And wake up, thinking this was a nightmare..’ I laid my head on the pillow and began to think about nice things. Not much later I fell asleep and the whole thing played like a movie in my head.


The next morning I woke up and rubbed my eyes. First I couldn’t place the room, but soon I knew it again. I had a bandage around my wrists. A woman was sitting on a chair in my room. She looked up from the magazine she was reading. Two blue eyes looked at me. ‘Heya sis..’ One of her eyes was a bit greenish, still from a black eye. ‘Hey..’ She walked to my bed and sat down on the edge. ‘How did you came here so fast?’ I asked her. ‘They called us on the farm.. My number was one of the numbers Dave called a lot, so they tried it. And then they told me that a blonde woman was brought to the hospital.. I asked if they knew her name and when they told your’s, I had to sit down for a moment.. I took the earliest plane to Miami..’ I nodded and she hugged me. ‘Good to see you again Lynn..’ Lynn smiled. ‘I brought someone with me.. This person wanted to see with own eyes if you were allright.’ The door opened and the person walked inside. ‘Morning mate!’ ‘Kevin!’ I began to cry of happiness. He smiled and walked to my bed and sat down. ‘The last time we saw each other you were 19.. I can’t call you a girl anymore..’ He hugged me tight. ‘It’s so good to see you again. Both of you.. I missed you.’ Lynn wanted to know what happened yesterday. I told her everything, even that I shot him down. You could see that she still cared about him. When I told her that he was dead, a tear rolled over her cheek. ‘But when did he hurt you?’ I asked her after I finished my story. Lynn wiped her tears away and said: ‘Like two weeks ago maybe.. Do you remember Kevin?’ Kevin thought deep and said: ‘I think so yes.. When did Mango got her foal?’ ‘Wait, wait.. Mango got a foal?’ They turned their faces to me. ‘Yes.. A brown foal.. He doesn’t have a name yet..’ Kevin took his mobile and showed me a picture of the little horse. ‘Aww! He’s so cute! Can I give him a name?’ Kevin shrugged. ‘Sure.. I mean, Mango’s your horse..’ Lynn nodded. I looked again at the picture of the horse. ‘What about Kiwi? He reminds me of one..’ I smiled. Kevin and Lynn looked at each other. ‘Sure, Kiwi it is then!’ Lynn smiled. Soon her smile disappeared and she ran out of my room with her hand in front of her mouth. I looked at Kevin. ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with her.. She’s like that for like a month and a half almost..’ Lynn came back, whipping her mouth of with a tissue. ‘Kevin, can I talk with my sister?’ Kevin looked at me. After a few minutes and a look he got the hint. ‘Sure.. I’ll get some coffee..’ And he walked out of my room. Lynn sat back down on my bed. I looked at her. ‘Lynn, I don’t know how to ask it so I just do it on the easiest way.. Are you pregnant?’ Lynn looked shocked at me. ‘I.. I don’t know where you’re talking ‘bout..’ She turned her head and looked out of the window. ‘Lynn, look at me.. I know when you tell a lie, and you’re doing it now.. You are, right? Is it from Dave?’ She nodded. Suddenly she burst out on crying. I held her and tried to comfort her. ‘I still loved him Mar.. I still did after everything he had done with you, me.. With Kevin.. He had kicked him in his stomach.. And I’m carrying his child.. I’m too scared to do a test but deep inside me, I know that it’s true.. What can I do now? Keep it?’ I didn’t said a thing. I only caressed her hair. After a while she calmed down. ‘Do you wanna keep the baby Lynn? Although it’s from Dave?’ She let her head hang. ‘I can’t kill this baby Mar.. I just can’t.. It’s a piece of me.. I keep it.’ She smiled. ‘But first you’re gonna do that test!’ I said and she nodded. ‘O my God! I’m going to be an aunt!’ And I hugged her. Kevin opened the door. ‘Can I come back inside?’ We nodded and he walked back inside with a mug coffee. ‘Kevin, mate, I’m an aunt! Well, probably I am.’ He looked confused at me. And then at Lynn. She began to explain it and he began to smile. ‘Congratulations!!’ And he hugged both of us. ‘Let’s hope it’s a girl..’ He said and we all smiled. But I knew he meant it, and Lynn was hoping the same just like me.

Capítulo 16



The next day I left the hospital. I didn’t saw the use of staying longer. I felt fine. My apartment was quite messy. But Eva helped me to clean it. Together with Lynn and Kevin, I went on a holiday to California. Kevin and I learned surfing there and it was really fun. The last year past faster then I thought. Lynn gave birth to a perfect healthy baby girl. She named her after our mother: Lily. Lynn had sent me a few photos of her baby. Lily was so cute; she had the brown hair of her mom, and also her blue eyes. You couldn’t see that Dave was her father.


Soon the day came that I had to leave. My bags were packed, the apartment was sold and I had given my badge to Jason. Eva, Tony, Sam and Jason would come with me to the airport. ‘Too bad I can’t take my car with me..’ I said while we got into Eva’s car. Jason smiled and said: ‘Sorry, but it’s a car from the Miami Dade CSI..’ He got into the car and Eva took off. 15 minutes later we arrived at the airport. ‘Girl, I’m gonna miss you!’ Eva hugged me tight. ‘I’ll miss ya too!’ I hugged her back. Eva released me and gave me a bag. ‘I bought a prezzie for ya.. Hope you’ll like it, but you can return it in Spain. I’m sure they have that store there too..’ and she winked. ‘Muchas gracias!’ And I gave her another hug. Also Tony and Sam got a hug. ‘Take care in Spain..’ Tony said. ‘I will, don’t worry..’ I smiled and turned my face to Jason. ‘What can I say? I’ll miss you too girl.. Take care of yourself, okay?’ I nodded and hugged him. ‘Thanks for everything guys.. Really.’ I took my shoulder bag and walked to the plane. I walked inside and waved for one last time to them. I had a seat at the window. I took my I-pod and began to listen some music. Soon I felt that I was drifting away into sleep. I smiled and fell asleep.

‘… arrived in Spain. Thank you for your faith in American Trans Air. Enjoy your stay!’ I stretched my arms and got up, took my bags and walked out of the plane. The sun shined warm on my face. ‘Hola España..’ I mumbled to myself. I walked into the gate. Ana was waiting for me, together with Basty and Ans. They were all smiling. ‘Hola!’ Ana said. I dropped my bags and hugged her. ‘Hola mom. It’s so good to see you again!’ I released her and walked to Basty. ‘Heya sis! I missed you!’ He smiled and had his arm around Ans. I smiled back and looked at Ans. ‘What do I see? A little Basty or Ans on the way?’ Ans smiled. ‘Yep, a little Basty. You’re gonna be an aunt hon!’ ‘That’s great news!’ I hugged them. Soon we took off to Cádiz. Basty and Ans dropped us there and drove to their own house in Madrid. ‘Tomorrow I’ll search my own house..’ I sighed. ‘That’s okay cariño.. You can stay here as long as you want..’ She smiled and we walked inside. Ana brought me to my bedroom. ‘I hope you like it.. It’s bigger then your other bedrooms, but I earn more money now..’ The room was blue -the same blue as my eyes- and white curtains were hanging in front of the windows. A small gray couch, a bed, bedside table, radio, small TV, closet, desk and two chairs were standing in it. After dinner I took a shower and got into my bed. Immediately I fell asleep.

That was a nice and peaceful part!!! I liked it!!!

Capítulo 17

I was walking in the park, happy to be home. I was back for three days, but I hadn’t seen Mikel yet. Basty told me that he was busy with moving to Madrid. Birds were singing and the sun shined nicely. A few meters in front of me, maybe 5, walked a couple. He had his arm around her. I smiled. They reminded me of Mikel and myself. I passed a bench. Two persons were sitting on it. The hand of the manfigure stroke a lock of hair out of the woman’s face. Something silver and shiny caught my attention and made me stop. The man wore a silver ring. My eyes let it go and I looked at my left wrist. It was a beautiful bracelet with a small plate. Our names and a date were engraved in it. ‘01-06-‘00.. That’s the day you asked me..’ I smiled at him.. How could he?! He took the silver ring out of it. The same date was engraved in it: 01-06-’00. Tears came in my eyes and my head was spinning around. I placed my hand on my head and felt tears rolling over my cheeks. ‘.. I’ll never forget you, and wait till you’re back..’ I turned back to the bench. ‘I’ll never forget you..’ My hands were fists. ‘..wait till you’re back..’ I tapped the man on his shoulder. He looked up. ‘You son of a bitch!’ I punched him in his face. ‘How could you! How?! I thought you loved me!?’ I ripped the bracelet of my wrist and threw it in front of him. He stared at me, with his hand in front of his eye. ‘You’re back?’ He looked surprised at me with his unharmed eye. ‘No, this is my ghost.. Duh! This is the first and the last time you’ll see me.. O, you can keep the bracelet and ring. Maybe your girlfriend likes them though OUR names are engraved in it….’ I turned around and ran out of the park, to my motor. I zipped my jacket up and putted the helmet on my head. ‘Don’t worry my love.. I’ll never try to hurt you..’ I drove to Basty’s house. I needed my brother more then ever now. I parked the motor and waited a few minutes before I walked to the door. I wiped my tears away. ‘Crying about a boy’s a waste of my mascara..’ I muttered and pressed on the doorbell. Ans opened the door, one hand on her belly, a golden ring on her finger. She had some paint in her face and on her hands and clothes. ‘Hola!’ she smiled surprised and happy at the same time. ‘Hola! Is Basty home? I saw the car parked in front of the house..’ and I pointed at the Porsche on the driveway. ‘I’m sorry hon, he left 15 minutes ago.. They’re leaving for their tour..’ I turned around and ran back to the motor. ‘Thanks! Ciao!’ and I putted the helmet on my head. As fast as I could I drove to the airport. When I arrived there, the plane just took off. I slammed with my fist against the window. ‘Damn it..’ I mumbled. Again tears were rolling over my cheeks. I walked outside and drove back to Cádiz. I didn’t said a thing to Ana and walked to my room, shut the door, turned the radio on and laid down on the small couch. Eventually I fell asleep. The next morning I woke up from my cell phone. ‘Maria speaking..’ I tried to open my eyes. ‘Basty called me.. Turn the TV on, TVE..’ I grabbed the remote control and turned the TV on. ‘..had a fight with someone who’s really precious to me.. I hope she sees this. I wrote a song, and I wanna sing if for you chica.. To say I’m sorry, please give me a chance to explain.. Good.. Maestro? Music please..’

His eye was blue-purple-ish. You could see he hadn’t slept much last night. ‘Are you still there Mar?’ ‘Yeah.. Talk to you later.. Bye hon..’ And I hung up. I stared at the TV. ‘I’m begging you to give me the chance to explain.. The person knows who I mean.’ He made a ‘call me’ gesture and walked off the stage. I dialed his number. ‘Give me one damn good reason to listen to you..’

I can't play an instrument nor read notes, so I don't have music with it.. I asked someone to compose it for me tho.. I guess you have to imagine the music

He walked backstage. The others were waiting for him. ‘Now you tell em what the hell happened yesterday. Your eye is blue and you look terrible.’ Javi looked worried at his friend. Mikel sighed. ‘I wanna know too… Ans called me when we were in the air yesterday. Maria wanted to talk with me.. She told me that my sis had been crying…She had mascara under her eyes and they were red.’ Mikel rubbed over his forehead. ‘Stop asking me questions, okay?’ he sat down and opened a bottle of water. He sipped of it and began to talk. ‘She needed a friend to comfort her, so I did.. Her boyfriend just broke up with her and her dad’s ill..’ ‘Who Mikel?’ Ony asked him. ‘Simone.. She’s a colleague from work.. We are only friends! I didn’t tried to kiss her or anything else! I swe-..’ he couldn’t finish his sentence coz his phone rang. ‘Maria! I’m so, so happy that you call me.. please, let me explain.. She isn’t my girl, you are.. She’s my colleague and I only comforted her, really! You are.. You are the only one.. one for me.. I’m so sorry darling.. so sorry..’ He began to cry. ‘But I under-.. Understand if you never wanna see me again..’ He looked up at his friends. Tears were rolling over his cheeks. ‘Like I said in the song, I know it will take time to forgive me but please.. really? Te quiero, te quiero mucho.. Yes.. No.. Over two months. You have no idea how much I miss you.. Besos calientes.. I can’t go earlier.. If I could, I would do it.. I would give everything to see you right now.. I’m sorry guappa, but I have to go now.. I love you very much. Ciao!’ and he hung up. He wiped his tears away. ‘She forgave me! She just..! And I..! It’s..! You have no idea how happy I am right now!’ He sprang up and gave his friends a hug. ‘Good to hear! Can we continue the concert loverboy?’ Ony smiled. Mikel hit him against the back of his head. ‘Let’s do it!’ And they walked back onto the stage. Mikel sent a quick air kiss and a wink into the camera. Basty took the microphone. ‘And our next song is…: SEXY!’ the music began and the guys lost control of their bodies and just danced.
